Works under Construction Official examining submitted zoning applications to ensure compliance with state, county and local zoning laws.  Will consult with architects, owners and contractors on compliance issues, conduct field inspections and assist in the promulgation of zoning regulations.  It is expected that the successful candidate can work effectively and harmoniously with other internal municipal departments as well as the Planning and Zoning Boards, outside public and private agencies, and the general public.

The position requires a NJ Zoning Official, Highlands, and Flood Plain certifications, and a minimum of two (2) years of experience as Zoning Officer in the State of New Jersey is preferred, but relevant experience in a related field may be accepted.  Applicants must be detail oriented, computer-proficient and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Must be a NJ resident and possess a valid driver’s license.
