At the pond's edge are many typical wetland plants: sensitive fern (Onoclea sensibilis), marsh fern (Thelypteris palustris), spike rush, duck weed and other sedges (Carex scoparia). Throughout this wetland deer wander through, turtles lay their eggs, snakes feed and salamanders and frogs breed.
