Depending on the time of year, the plants will differ and the area will look quite different from season to season.

This ecosystem represents many different habitats. At this point, slightly higher in elevation, the area is drier and the vegetation reflects this. Saplings of gray birch (Betula populifolia) dominate the area. This is really an upland plant but due to the slight rise in elevation has been very successful.
