History of WMMA

West Milford Municipal Alliance was organized in 1989 by merging with the West Milford Youth and Family Counseling Committee. The Committee was made up of representatives from the Township, the Board of Health, the Board of Education, a Certified Alcohol Abuse Counselor and members from the community. The Municipal Alliance Steering Committee was developed and began to implement prevention programs focusing on the needs of West Milford. A grant from the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, enabled the committee to expand programs and develop new strategies in the fight against substance abuse. WMMA continues to grow and welcomes new members.
