ENGINEERING DIVISION MONTHLY REPORT

FACILITY DUDE / MOBILE 311

Technical assistance was provided to the DPW part-time staffer for data entry into the Facility Dude system.  Facility Dude is a GIS based work order and vehicle maintenance tracking system specifically for government.

LOT DEVELOPMENT PLAN REVIEW

One (1) as-built / final plan was reviewed, inspected and approved.  All lot development plan review results are entered into the “Spatial Data Logic” system.  The results are also posted for public consumption within the Engineering Division section of the Township’s website (www.westmilford.org) under the Lot Development Plan Tracker.

2018 – 2019 WINTER STORM MAINTENANCE

At the request of the DPW Director, certain contracted snowplow routes were redesigned.  New individual route maps were generated and distributed to the impacted contractors.

TAX MAPS

A total of 8.5 hours of tax map revisions review was performed by the consulting land surveyor.  The Engineering Division drafts the tax map changes required by the Tax Assessor that must then be reviewed by the land surveyor as per State law.

2018 TOWNSHIP TAX SALE LIEN REVIEW

As requested by the Tax Collector, an office review was performed for 21 properties struck-off to the Township.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Technical assistance, regarding lot development plans, storm drainage issues, active construction projects, flood zones, right-of-way issues, etc. was provided to concerned residents on 41 occasions.Field inspections, photographs, reports and/or follow up were required for 12 of these issues.
  • Technical assistance was provided, for various issues, to other departments on 68 occasions.
  • Four large format copies were made for $5.00 each.Six no charge maps were made for other offices, boards and/or committees.
  • File research, map copies and/or information were provided to professionals on 14 occasions.
  • Assistance was provided to builders, contractors and utilities on 8 occasions.
  • Reviewed consulting Township Engineer payment vouchers on two occasions.
  • One Planning Board application was reviewed for any possible conflicts with Township infrastructure.
  • The annual, revised Township Street Index was submitted to Administration for Township staff-wide distribution.
  • One department head meetings was attended.
  • Three Street Excavation permits were reviewed, bond established and returned to the Clerk’s Office for processing.

 

CAPITAL PROJECTS

 

CAHILL CROSS ROAD

Fulltime inspection was provided for the intermediate and surface course paving.  The improvements to Cahill Cross Road between Morsetown Road and the strip mall have been completed under the 2018 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

CARRIAGE LANE

Fulltime inspection was provided for the intermediate and surface course paving.  The improvements to Carriage Lane have been completed under the 2018 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

DURALEE COURT

Fulltime inspection was provided for the intermediate and surface course paving.  The improvements to Duralee Court have been completed under the 2018 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

EVANSTAN AVENUE WEST

Fulltime inspection was provided for the intermediate and surface course paving.  The improvements to Evanstan Avenue West have been completed under the 2018 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

GOULD ROAD

Fulltime inspection was provided for the intermediate and surface course paving.  The improvements to Gould Road between Wooley Road and Sherwood Court have been completed under the 2018 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

HIGH CREST DRIVE

Fulltime inspection was provided for the intermediate and surface course paving.  The improvements to High Crest Drive between Macopin Terrace and the beach have been completed under the 2018 Township Road Resurfacing Program.  Follow-up survey work was performed to investigate a resident inquiry to a storm drainage issue.

HIGH STREET

Fulltime inspection was provided for the intermediate and surface course paving.  The improvements to High Street have been completed under the 2018 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

MAC GREGOR ROAD

Fulltime inspection was provided for the intermediate and surface course paving.  The improvements to Mac Gregor Road have been completed under the 2018 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

MARY STREET

Fulltime inspection was provided for the intermediate and surface course paving.  The improvements to Mary Street have been completed under the 2018 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

MONMOUTH AVENUE

Fulltime inspection was provided for the intermediate and surface course paving.  The improvements to Monmouth Avenue have been completed under the 2018 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

MORSETOWN ROAD

Fulltime inspection was provided for the intermediate and surface course paving.  The improvements to Morsetown Road between Cahill Cross Road and hse. #646 have been completed under the 2018 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

PAWNEE TERRACE

Fulltime inspection was provided for the intermediate and surface course paving.  The improvements to Pawnee Terrace have been completed under the 2018 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

RESERVOIR ROAD – SECTION 3

The inlet repairs, widening, milling and intermediate course paving were completed in advance of winter weather.  The surface course paving and property restoration have been suspended until favorable weather in the spring 2019.  NJDOT Local Aid – Mt. Arlington was notified of the status.  The widening and resurfacing of Reservoir Road is being partially funded by a $250,000 State Aid roadway infrastructure grant.  NJDOT document submissions have been brought up-to-date.

RIDGE ROAD – SECTION 3, CONTRACT 5

Fulltime inspection was provided for intermediate course paving for Ridge Road between Vreeland Road and Baron Road.  The surface course pavement and property restoration have been suspended until favorable weather in spring 2019 due to the failure of timely utility relocations.  The improvements to Ridge Road are being partially funded by a $248,228 State Aid grant.  This is the final section of the 1999 envisioned Bikeway to connect the Town Center to the major schools complex (Highlander Drive).

PAWNEE TERRACE

Fulltime inspection was provided for the intermediate and surface course paving.  The improvements to Pawnee Terrace have been completed under the 2018 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

ROCKBURN PASS

Fulltime inspection was provided for the intermediate and surface course paving.  The improvements to Rockburn Pass between hse. #47 and hse. 131? have been completed under the 2018 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

ROSEMONT AVENUE

Fulltime inspection was provided for the intermediate and surface course paving.  The improvements to Rosemont Avenue have been completed under the 2018 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

SETTING SUN TRAIL

Fulltime inspection was provided for the intermediate and surface course paving.  The improvements to Setting Sun Trail have been completed under the 2018 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

WEAVER ROAD

A field meeting was held with two property owners to discuss a water problem that involves the lack of storm drainage within the Township Road.  Follow up and design will be required to resolve the issue.
