EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

West Milford Township has passed an Ordinance #2008-050 effective January 1, 2009 requiring all existing, new and proposed individual and non-individual subsurface sewage disposal systems to be pumped out at least once every three (3) years in order to minimize future malfunctions of such systems.

Licensed Septic Sludge Removal Operators/Tank Pumpers conducting business in West Milford Township must have a NJ Department of Environmental Protection Operator’s License.  Sludge Removers/Pumpers are asked to come to the Health Department immediately to register their business and to pick up an instruction packet and a bundle of forms for your clients.  After servicing, each form should be filled out by tank pumpers, and returned to the Health Department for filing. The registration fee for Operators/Tank pumpers is $100.00 payable to the Township of West Milford.  Please bring a copy of your Tank Pumper License with you when you register.  There is no fee to the homeowner. Your permit will be given to you by your pumper installer.

If you have any questions concerning licensing procedures or requirements, please feel free to contact the Health Department at 973-728-2720.
